The time when the two of us were bound together
with a gleaming leash of child play, then I didn’t recognize, know who you were Fearlessly mindlessly I played with you all along
Life flowing about carelessly with so much ease
Many a dawn you beckoned me with your hearty calls
Spontaneously I stepped out in glee
to run with you wild amid the depths of woods unto their limits.
You would hum many a mellifluous song and I would voice along with you
unperturbed, their meanings unknown uninterpreted
Yet my life seemed to celebrate singing with you in unison.
Today, I realise our play has come to an end so sudden so abrupt,
The mirth of my world seems to have vanished, the picture altered
The sky is so numb the moon and the sun drowned in silence
My gaze longs for your footsteps so far away.
My world stands lonely and desolate.
